GBOX

So what?

The Gulf Futures Observatory maps a century of plausible futures: 2030, 2040, 2060, 2080, 2100. A wall fed by the collective intelligence of our labs, one tile at a time. Walk the century. Then ask the question.

A century on the wall.

Five horizons: 2030, 2040, 2060, 2080, 2100. Each tile is one plausible future for the Gulf, mapped the way our labs map them: named, dated, arguable. Walk the century, or press play and let it walk you.

Opening set seeded by the GBOX studio. Every lab adds tiles. This wall grows.

From wall to decision: the So What Test.

A future earns the wall by being plausible. It earns a lab by passing three questions.

01

So what changes?

THE DECISION

Name the specific decision this future touches: a tariff, a curriculum, a capital allocation. No named decision, no deliverable.

02

So what would we do differently?

THE DIVERGENCE

The action that differs across the scenarios. If all three futures lead to the same move, the scenario work was decoration.

03

So what do we watch?

THE DASHBOARD

The three indicators that tell you which future is arriving, so the exercise lives long after the workshop ends.

The machinery behind the wall.

LAYER 01 · NARRATIVE ENGINE

Labs that produce named futures.

Structured sessions with the people who hold the levers, producing documented scenario sets: a storyline, an explicit assumptions table, and early-warning indicators. Every lab adds tiles to this wall.

LAYER 02 · NUMBERS BRIDGE

From story to model and back.

Each scenario's assumptions become inputs our modelling partners can run, and the results come back translated into decision language. We own the corridor between the room and the machine, in both directions and in both languages.

LAYER 03 · POLICY INTERFACE

Briefs, decision-labs, and transfer.

Four-page briefs that get read. Decision-labs that stress-test one real choice against three futures in an afternoon. Training so your team reruns the exercise themselves next year.

Proof one: Water 2040.

Ahead of the Year of Water 2027: two labs, three named Saudi water futures, and one authority sitting for a decision-lab against them. The loop publishes twice: a public white paper and a peer-reviewed method paper. One pillar, one complete loop. Everything after is repetition, and repetition is how this wall gets built.

Bring us a decision.

A tariff, a curriculum, a capital allocation. We will bring three futures and the test.
