With over 60% population under the age of 30 in Pakistan, there is a surge in governmental, civil society and youth-led engagement of young people across the country. However, there is no learning space or network available to share experiences, learning and skills. In an attempt to bridge this gap, Green Box has launched the ‘Youth Practice School’, a collaborative maker space dedicated to training and development in the youth work/ practice sector in Pakistan.
The Youth Practice School (YPS) serves a three-pronged agenda:
- To drive skills development across the youth work sector in Pakistan
- To create a community of collaborative learning opportunities, building on existing sector capacity in Pakistan
- To create a culture of learning that is responsive to the needs of young people and wider society in Pakistan
Research Network
The school also houses a research network that is interested in the key issues and challenges around youth work practice in Pakistan. By bringing together youth work and academic researchers in Pakistan, whether formal or informal, we seek to improve the understanding of how youth work makes a difference to young people, their communities and society as a whole across the country.

Certificate in Essential Skills for Youth Work Practice in Pakistan | Online learning | 2 hours | October 12, 2019 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Pakistan time
Pre-requisites: Intermediate fluency in English and Urdu
If you are young person starting to work with young peers, volunteer at a local youth organisation or a professional with less than two years of experience working with or for young people in Pakistan, this certificate is an essential for you. The 2-hours long interactive session will help you contextualise your past and present experiences in terms of international standards for youth practice and essential skills required to effectively work with all kinds of youth groups in Pakistan.
